I would love to share a recent collaboration with a client to create her family holiday card.  I provided the digital calligraphy and she did the rest.  She did a fantastic job, I might add.  Enjoy and have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend!

So I am a lover of a lot of things, but wine and cheese are definitely up there on my list.  This past week I provided simple black on white menu cards for a wine and cheese party at my office.  I think you can tell from the photos, that it went well! The cards are done in one of my newer font styles that is probably my favorite, “Extreme Jolene”, (named after my mother, not necessarily the ‘extreme’ part)!  Enjoy!

So as I have been slacking on the blog postings lately, I promise I have actually been doing work. So much so that I am making my husband take a vacation with me. Yes, I have to force him to do so…who needs to be convinced to go on vacation? Not me! Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I have also added a couple variations of my font style “Jolene” to my shop. “Jolene” (named after my mother) is one of my most popular fonts, so I thought I would take it a bit farther. Here are a couple images! Enjoy!

It is wedding season everywhere and I am crazy busy producing calligraphy for brides across the country, literally.  Right now I have orders for brides in California, New York, and Illinois.  I am also doing an order for a girl in Australia!  Anywho, here are some of my recent works.  Enjoy!

I have been very bad about updating you with my work, but I have been plenty busy, so there will be a couple posts to catch you up.  Here is Part 2 to the Part 1 from May.  This post includes a digital Save the Date, my sister’s graduation announcements, Escort Cards for a Colorado Wedding, and Personalized Thank Yous and Weddings Cards for a Hawaiian wedding!  Enjoy!

Digital Save the Date

I have been busy around here.  Even currently, I am taking a break from calligraphy to post some images as promised.  Mother’s Day Envelopes, a Digital Baby Shower Invitation, and three digital Return Address options.  Look for Part 2 some time soon which includes Graduation Announcements, Escort Cards, and Bridal Luncheon Invitations. Enjoy!

I have been pretty busy in the last week or so with calligraphy.  It is busy with wedding season quickly approaching.  Here is what I am currently working on:

1. My sister’s graduation announcements.  Purple cards with red and white ink (her school colors).

2. My best friend’s wedding invitations where I am providing the lettering and then she will scan and copy it multiple times over for the invitations.

3. My best friend’s wedding envelopes.  We are going to mix my “Hale” font with one of my more flourished fonts to make them unique and less formal.

4. My aunt-in-law’s (is there such a thing) personalized Thank-You note.

5.  Favor labels or tags for a friend’s wedding shower.  They will be tied to the favors with a pretty ribbon.

6. A custom order for a bride’s individual Thank Yous to her bridesmaids.  We are using a metallic orange ink which should be fun.  I heart metallic ink.

7. A custom digital file for a client who is getting her store’s signage made.

And 8. Wedding Shower Place cards.  These are for a wedding shower outside Boston, MA.  They are done in my font style “Nicole” named after one of my sisters.  The ink is a dark blue that I added a little white to to make a little lighter.  The client is going to attach a couple pieces of confetti to the upper left hand corner for a little aesthetic.

Here are some images of the wedding shower place cards.  I will post images of the other items as I finish them.  Enjoy, and Happy Monday!

Here is an update on a recent order.  Surprisingly I get asked most about doing custom orders via my Etsy Shop  instead of things that I actually have posted.  Totally fine by me.  This is just one of those cases.  The client wanted a custom baptism invite on cards she already had.  Since she actually lived in Colorado, we met up and she handed the cards off to me and I got to work.  I used a gold gouache for the ink which turned out awesome.  I hadn’t used metallic before but it ended up looking fantastic and I was very pleased.  So here they are.  Again, she provided the cards, and I just added the “You’re Invited” and the information on the interior.  The interior font style is my “Charles” named after my new hubby.  I have blurred some of the information inside the card for ambiguity. Enjoy!

Here is another new segment that dives into my dreams about having an awesome paper studio/workspace one day in my house where my creativity ebbs and flows.  Right now I am in the confines of my basement in our 1920′s bungalow.  I shouldn’t complain.   It is nice to actually have that space at this point.  And as 1920s basements go, mine has quite a bit of space and natural light, as well as being completely finished.  But I still have goals and aspirations of having a nicely organized artsy fartsy (yes I just said that) space of my own.  So for now “Workspace Wednesday” will shoe examples of what I would someday love to have.

My first example comes from Martha Stewart via Black Eiffel and is practically perfect in every way!  It is organized, yet fun.  It has a nice display area on top.  The blue would of course have to be a pink (or a purple).  How about pinkish purple?  But there is a nice array of organization types, with drawers and a magnet board!  Spaces that are hidden and spaces that are not.  Yes, I do like this indeed.  So enjoy, and I will let you know when my dream becomes a reality!

So finally here are some images of my most recent project.  Erin has been my best friend since the 6th grade and in a little more than a month, she will be marrying Jacob.  The wedding will be held outside of Houston, Texas and I can’t wait to be there for her and Jacob.  Her family was always like a second family to me and I love them as much as I love Erin.  So here are her wedding envelopes and reply cards.  The envelopes were a beautiful chocolate brown and Erin chose white ink.  She chose my “Charles” style calligraphy which I love.  Enjoy!
